Dandong Station

Great story about being thrown in emergency quarantine in China for suspected swine flu.  Todays Globe & Mail. Super fast turn around filling in for another illustrator who fell of his bike.

beep.

Some coloured spreads for this book for Annick.  This is a Graphic,
non-fiction collection of 12 accounts of identity forming moments
from childhood.  Its a real collaboration between the author
Kate Scowen and I and the good folks at Annick. She put out a wide
call for such stories and whittled them down to 12 lightly edited beauties.
Then I take the original story as written by the person who lived it,
along with some illustration notes as imagined by Kate, and mash
them together until the story arc works while drawing them out at
once. Liking how the same energy in the line work transfers to the hand
written text as you do them together.  Almost 1/2 way.
